HMI Software

By admin 3. April 2012

SCADA software (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) and HMI software (Human Machine Interface) are considered much the same as there have been innumerable developments in automation products. At first, the difference was very evident. HMI software were created as dedicated electronics that had the ability of communication with other dedicated electronics while SCADA software were computer-based applications that were able to create a link between windows-based applications in the share of data with control systems.

However, this system was improved with time and it was quite clear how HMI also gives somewhat the same functionality as SCADA software i.e. at a fraction of cost and based on Windows system.

What makes a good SCADA or HMI? There are factors that make SCADA and HMI more effective and usable. When creating any operator interface, the end user should always be considered with any good system.

Simplify your design – don’t use spinning graphics and animations as they detract from the basic information.

Color association is important – use one simple color for complete navigation throughout the project but avoid red and green amber as they should be used for status indications only.

SCADA software does not only belong to engineers. The operator functions should always take president.

Use common face plates for devices and extended information – this can provide a lot of useful information but always apply the above design philosophies when creating them.

Stick to one language, probably English. Always create messages in full length.

The Reliability of HMI Software

By admin 13. February 2012

Nowadays, everything is mostly computerized. Very rarely would you find anything that is done by paper and pen or by hand. The digital world has clearly taken affect on nearly everything we do. HMI software is a reliable because it is not only computer based but also interactive. There are actual people who, alongside the computer program, work together to make sure that everything is up and running smoothly.

Because the system is both computerized and interactive, it makes it that much easier to get the job done. It is very easy to read and understand. HMI software is used to control water management which is very important. Water management is very crucial because it affects all of society. Everyone uses water and it is very important to make sure that is under control and running properly.

HMI Software; Keeping Information Secure

Computers can definitely make things a lot easier for its users. However, just as it can make things easy, it can also complicate things as well. There is always a risk of someone finding your personal private information and using it or the risk of losing all of your work, or issues can come up that make the computers start acting up and not operate correctly, among other problems. HMI software which stands for human-machine interface is computer operated software. What is beneficial about this software is that it not only does the work by a computer but then there is an actual person controlling everything. The beneficial function of this software is that there is always someone there to make sure that everything is running smoothly. Therefore, not only do you have the computer doing all of the work but you also have a person making sure that everything is running and not malfunctioning.

This helps eliminate any issues that can possibly occur with a computer because there would always be someone who is looking and keeping track of what is happening the whole time.

HMI Software Can Help Make Things Easier
